A Level company - serving Financial District, NY

Meet the Team - Level Two Chimney Financial District

Every visit starts with

Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed

Worth knowing

Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

Meet the Financial District Team Behind Level Two Chimney Financial District

Level Two Chimney Financial District is run by a small, tight crew that knows the chimney stacks of Lower Manhattan better than anyone. Since 2009, we’ve been climbing fire escapes, hauling camera rigs through bulkheads, and working inside buildings where every chimney has a story. Most of the chimneys we service in the Financial District still serve original masonry from the early 20th century, which means our people see conditions other sweep companies in New York never encounter. What unites the team is simple: we follow Clause 1 of the Haven Standard, which means a written price before anything starts, and Clause 4, which means a documented photo record on every single job. No exceptions, no shortcuts.

Our People

Marcus T. – Lead Technician

Marcus has been with Level Two Chimney Financial District for 11 years and has personally cleaned or inspected more than 6,000 chimneys across Manhattan. He holds an NFPA 211 Level 2 certification and specializes in camera-scan inspections of flue liners in pre-war buildings, which is where most of the difficult work in this neighborhood lives. Marcus is the tech most building managers in the Financial District request by name, partly because he explains findings in plain terms and partly because he never recommends a liner replacement without showing the footage that justifies it. When he’s not on a roof near Wall Street, he’s rebuilding a 1972 BMW motorcycle in his Queens garage, slowly.

Dana R. – Senior Installer

Dana has spent 14 years installing chimney liners, caps, and crowns, and has worked with DuraFlex and HeatShield materials for the last decade. She’s the person we send when a chimney needs a stainless steel liner dropped into an 80-year-old flue or when a cracked crown needs to be stripped and re-poured. Dana trained as a mason before moving into chimney systems, so she understands how brick, mortar, and steel interact in a New York freeze-thaw cycle, which matters more in the Financial District than almost anywhere else in the city. Her specialty is the “cricket,” the small peaked masonry deflector behind a chimney that diverts rain and snow; she’s rebuilt dozens of them on flat-roofed buildings above Nassau and William Street. Dana keeps a sketchbook of every custom crown she’s poured.

Luis F. – Service Coordinator

Luis is the voice on the phone when you call (551) 213-4778, and he’s been answering those calls for six years. His job is to get a written scope and price in front of you before any tech steps into your building, which is Clause 1 of the Haven Standard and the one he enforces most strictly. Luis schedules every job, assigns the named technician, and sends the arrival text required under the H.A.V.E.N. “Arrive on schedule” standard. He also handles the Free Second Opinion process, which means he’s very good at reading a competitor’s written estimate line-by-line and telling you honestly where the numbers differ. He grew up in Jackson Heights, knows every subway line by heart, and will absolutely talk your ear off about it if you let him.

Priya S. – Apprentice Technician

Priya joined the team two years ago as our first formal apprentice, and she’s already passed her NFPA 211 Level 1 inspection exam. She works alongside Marcus on most Financial District jobs, running the camera feed, documenting conditions, and learning how to read creosote and liner damage without guessing. Priya came to us from a building maintenance background, so she already understood how commercial boiler systems vent before she ever touched a chimney brush. She’s also the most meticulous note-taker on the crew, which matters when you’re compiling the photo record every customer receives under Clause 4. Priya competes in amateur rock climbing on weekends, which means she’s entirely comfortable at roof height and the rest of us are quietly grateful for that.

One Standard, Every Job

One Standard, Every Job

Level Two Chimney Financial District is independently owned and operated, and every person on this crew works under the same rules: a written price before any work starts, a documented photo record when it’s done, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise backing the whole thing. Corrine Halstead, the owner, oversees every job in the Financial District and personally reviews the camera footage on any inspection that might result in a liner recommendation. That’s not a marketing promise. It’s how the Haven Standard functions. When you book a chimney cleaning, a liner inspection, or a crown repair with us, you get a named technician, a written scope, and a photo record you can keep. If it’s not done right, we make it right, and that promise is stamped on every job.
